RAJOURI FEBRUARY 02:-The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District Unit Rajouri on Monday welcomed the Union Budget 2026–27, terming it a comprehensive roadmap for sustained economic growth and inclusive development. Addressing a press conference in Rajouri, senior BJP leader and District Convener of the Budget Cell, Mohammed Arif, said the budget lays a strong foundation for the “Viksit Bharat Mission 2047.”
Highlighting key provisions, Arif said the Union Government has proposed ₹43,290.29 crore as grants-in-aid for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, marking an increase of nearly ₹2,000 crore (about 4.72%) over the revised estimates of ₹41,340 crore for 2025–26. He described the enhanced allocation as a clear reflection of the Centre’s commitment to accelerating development in J&K.
Arif further stated that the budget underscores the government’s resolve to undertake comprehensive economic reforms aimed at employment generation, productivity enhancement and faster growth. He noted that more than 350 reforms have been rolled out, including GST simplification, notification of labour codes, and rationalisation of mandatory quality control orders, supported by high-level monitoring committees to ensure effective implementation.
He also expressed gratitude to the Union Government and the Prime Minister for announcing a ₹3,400 crore special package for minorities, calling it a significant step towards inclusive and holistic development.
Speaking on the occasion, Dev Raj, District President BJP Rajouri, also welcomed the budget and highlighted flagship schemes that continue to prioritise rural and urban development. He cited initiatives such as VB GRAM-G Mission, PMAY, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, and Jal Shakti for ensuring clean drinking water to every village, alongside sustained investment in infrastructure for urban modernisation.
Describing the Union Budget 2026 as a “pillar of growth and development,” Dev Raj said it focuses on people-centric governance, ease of doing business, ease of living, trust-based administration, and fiscal prudence to sustain long-term economic momentum.
Senior BJP leaders present at the press conference included Samreen Khan (Senior Leader BJP), Des Raj (Block President BJP), Arthi Sharma (District President, Mahila Morcha Rajouri) and Advocate Amit Sharma (Yuva Leader BJP UT), who collectively lauded the “pro-people and growth-oriented” Union Budget 2026–27.
