SRINAGAR FEBRUARY 01:-After the successful ‘Gal Baat’ outreach programme in the Rajouri–Pir Panjal region, the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday extended its public connect initiative with the launch of ‘Kath Baat’ in Downtown Srinagar, the historic heart of Kashmir.
The programme aims to engage directly with residents, artisans, traders, and youth, focusing on preserving cultural heritage while addressing pressing civic and socio-economic concerns. Party leaders said Downtown Srinagar is not merely a cluster of old streets and structures, but the soul of Kashmir, where every lane echoes centuries of history and tradition.
Highlighting the significance of the old city, the PDP emphasized the need for care, respect, and meaningful renewal, particularly for traditional crafts, infrastructure, and livelihoods that sustain the area’s identity. The initiative seeks to amplify the voices of local communities and ensure their concerns are reflected in policy and governance.
The PDP leadership reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive dialogue, cultural preservation, and people-centric development across all regions of Jammu and Kashmir, stating that programmes like Kath Baat are essential to reconnect governance with grassroots realities.
