Bio Medical Waste Management and Handling discussed

UDHAMPUR, JULY-11:- To oversee the implementation of Bio Medical Waste Management and Handling in the district , a meeting of district level committee was held under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner Udhampur, Ashok Kumar at the conference hall of DC Udhampur today .

Threadbare discussions were held regarding the disposal of bio medical waste produced in the hospital , laboratories and clinics of the district.

While speaking on the occasion, ADDC said that it is the need of hour to handle the medical waste in a scientific way and thrusted upon all to get all the facilities registered with State pollution Control Board immediately and follow all the guidelines laid down in letter and spirit.

All the participants were made aware about the bio medical waste management and handling rule 2016 and directed to adhere strictly while disposing off such waste.

Chief Medical Officer Udhampur Dr.K.C. Dogra made aware the meeting about the purpose of convening the meeting first of its kind in the district.

District Officer State Pollution Control Board Udhampur also deliberated about the pros and cons of Bio Medical Waste Management. While Operator from Anmol Agency highlighted the working of the agency.

Prominent among other present were District Information Officer Udhampur, Chief Executive Officer Municipality Udhampur, Executive Engineer PHE Udhampur, Medical Supdt. DH Udhampur, Dy.CMO Incharge Udhampur, BLock Medical Officer Chennai,Ramnagar, Tikri, Basantgarh, Drug Inspector Udhampur staff from District Programme Management Unit Udhampur and representatives from Nursing homes and Laboratories udhampur.
