POONCH FEBRUARY 01:-Yasir Mushtaq of District Poonch has brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir by winning the Silver Medal at the Sub-Junior National Pencak Silat Championship, held in Uttarakhand from January 26 to 31, 2026. The prestigious championship saw participation from young and talented athletes representing states from across the country.

Yasir Mushtaq, son of Mohd. Mushtaq Lone and resident of Seri Chowana A, is a student of Carmel School, Chandak. His outstanding performance at the national level has made his family, school, and the entire region proud.
The achievement came under the expert guidance and mentorship of Mr. Manzoor Ahmed Lone and Mr. Pervaiz Ahmed Malik, whose dedication, coaching, and constant encouragement played a crucial role in shaping Yasir’s success.

Affiliated with the J&K Pencak Silat Association under the J&K Sports Council, the District Poonch Pencak Silat Association lauded Yasir’s discipline, determination, and commitment to excellence.

The management, coaches, and members of the sports fraternity have extended their heartiest congratulations to Yasir Mushtaq and wished him continued success and many more achievements in the future.
