SRINAGAR JANUARY 28:-A one-week MSME sponsored training programme titled *Business and Production Management of Biofertilizer Technology for Entrepreneurship* commenced today and will continue from 28 January to 03 February 2026 at the Faculty of Agriculture (FoA), Wadura, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K).
The inaugural function was held at the Conference Hall of Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Mir, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura, who presided over the function.
The inaugural session began with a welcome address by Dr. Mumtaz, who highlighted the importance of capacity building and skill-oriented training programmes for aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly in the agri-based sector.
Dr. Inayat Mustafa Khan, Associate Professor and Training Coordinator, presented a detailed overview of the training programme, outlining its objectives, structure, and expected outcomes. He emphasized that the programme aims to equip participants with practical knowledge and entrepreneurial skills in the production, management, and commercialization of biofertilizer technology.
In his words of wisdom, Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Mir underscored the growing relevance of biofertilizers in sustainable agriculture. He stressed the need for promoting eco-friendly and cost-effective agricultural inputs and encouraged trainees to utilize the knowledge gained during the programme for establishing successful entrepreneurial ventures.
Prof. Mohd Auyoub delivered an insightful lecture on the role of biofertilizers, elaborating on their significance in improving soil health, enhancing crop productivity, and reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. M. H. Chesti, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons, organizers, and participants for their active involvement and support in making the inaugural session a success.
The training programme is expected to provide hands-on exposure, technical know-how, and business management skills to participants, thereby fostering entrepreneurship in the biofertilizer sector and contributing to sustainable agricultural development.
