JAMMU JANUARY 26:-Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, felicitated the Administrator Waqf Board Rajouri, Abdul Qayoom Mir (KAS Retd.), in recognition of his exemplary contributions towards the development and preservation of Waqf Shrines and Masjids across Rajouri district.
The honour was bestowed upon Abdul Qayoom Mir for his dedicated leadership in spearheading large-scale developmental initiatives while ensuring the protection and safeguarding of Waqf assets. Under his visionary stewardship, dozens of Waqf lands and properties were successfully reclaimed from illegal encroachments, marking a significant achievement for the department.
During his tenure, several major infrastructural projects have been completed, including the construction of new buildings, Masjids, guest houses, dormitories, and the reconstruction of old Shrines and Masjids across the district. Notable projects include the development of Jama Masjid Shahdara, Masjid at Bhattian, the new Ziyarat at Mangota Sain Zakri Shah, along with other important Auqaf properties.
Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi lauded the Administrator’s commitment, integrity, and selfless service towards strengthening Waqf institutions and preserving Islamic heritage in the region. She stated that such dedicated efforts have significantly improved Waqf infrastructure and ensured better management of religious assets.
The recognition has been widely appreciated by the local community, who hailed Abdul Qayoom Mir’s contributions as a proud moment for Waqf Board Rajouri and an inspiration for public service.
