POONCH  JAN, 15:-In a strong and resolute action aimed at crippling terror networks and their support systems, District Police Poonch have attached an immovable property belonging to a Pakistan-based terror handler, Abdul Aziz, in the Mandi area of District Poonch, strictly in accordance with the directions passed by the Hon’ble Court.

This significant legal action has been taken in connection with FIR No. 07/2002, registered at Police Station Mandi under Sections 2/3 of the Enemy and Inimical Activities (Prevention) Ordinance / E&IMCO Act. The attached property includes 10 Kanal and 14 Marlas of land, falling under Khasra No. 491, situated in Tehsil Mandi, District Poonch, having an assessed market value of approximately ₹22.05 lakh.

The property belongs to Abdul Aziz, son of Ahmeda Lone, a resident of Chamber Kanari, Tehsil Mandi, District Poonch, who had earlier exfiltrated to Pakistan / Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). After crossing over, the accused has been actively operating as a terror handler, facilitating and coordinating activities that are prejudicial to the security, unity, and sovereignty of India.

Due to his persistent evasion of the legal process and deliberate attempts to avoid arrest, Abdul Aziz was subsequently declared a Proclaimed Offender by the Hon’ble Court. Despite continuous and sustained efforts by Poonch Police to apprehend him, the accused remained beyond the reach of Indian law, forcing the judicial authorities to initiate coercive legal measures, including the attachment of his immovable assets.

Acting promptly on the court’s directives, Poonch Police, in close coordination with the Revenue Department, carried out the attachment after ensuring strict compliance with all legal formalities, including proper verification, documentation, and procedural safeguards. The operation reflects the professionalism and institutional coordination of the district administration in dealing with cases linked to terrorism and anti-national activities.

Senior police officials stated that this attachment is part of a broader and sustained counter-terrorism strategy aimed at dismantling the financial, logistical, and operational support structures of terror networks. By depriving terror handlers and their associates of land, property, and economic resources, the security agencies intend to send a clear and uncompromising message that involvement in terrorism will invite stringent legal consequences.

District Police Poonch reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to act firmly, lawfully, and decisively against Pakistan-based terror handlers, their overground networks, and all elements involved in activities inimical to national security. The police further assured the public that such actions will continue relentlessly to ensure peace, public safety, rule of law, and the sovereignty of the nation.

Authorities have also urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by sharing any information related to anti-national activities, reiterating that public support remains a crucial pillar in the fight against terrorism in the region.
