Rajouri Gears Up for Republic Day 2026; DC & SSP Reviews Arrangements, Stresses Inclusive Participation

RAJOURI, DECM 31:-Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma & SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar, today chaired a joint meeting to review the arrangements for the smooth and successful celebration of Republic Day 2026 in the district.

During the meeting, the DC issued detailed directions to ensure adequate facilities and seamless conduct of the main function. He directed the concerned departments to arrange waterproof tents, provide additional changing rooms for students, especially girls, identify suitable parking locations, and issue a proper traffic advisory well in advance to avoid inconvenience to the general public.

Emphasizing inclusive participation, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to improve road conditions in far-flung and snow-bound areas so that students and participants from remote regions can attend the celebrations without difficulty.

Furthermore, DC also reviewed the parade contingents, arrangements for full-day rehearsals, stage and seating arrangements, and the status of tenders floated by the PWD. Directions were issued for proper illumination of government buildings to add to the grandeur of the national event.

Additionally, arrangements to be made by the Additional Deputy Commissioners in their respective jurisdictions were reviewed virtually, and they were instructed to ensure meticulous planning and close coordination at the sub-district level.
