RAMBAN/JAMMU DECM,17:-A delegation from Samadhaan Foundation today met the Executive Engineer (XEN), PMGSY Division Banihal, Er. Sansar Singh, at his office chamber to discuss pressing concerns related to newly proposed PMGSY road projects in the region.

During the meeting, the delegation highlighted critical issues pertaining to the Hochak–Paristan Road and Senabhati–Thata–Ramla Road, and submitted a detailed representation seeking early intervention. The delegation pointed out delays in the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and stressed the need for proper prioritisation of these roads under PMGSY Stage-IV, Phase-I.

It was informed that more than 2,800 residents from remote habitations including Lower Halla, Kultan, Kurbhatien, Soolian, Raipur, Upper Thata, Baskotian, Ramla, and the seasonal settlement of Margan Top continue to suffer due to lack of all-weather road connectivity. The delegation expressed concern that despite mapping surveys, these vital roads were overlooked in the planning process.

The Samadhaan Foundation team also raised serious apprehensions about the possible damage to the existing Ukhral–Senabhati PMGSY road due to ongoing construction of new roads such as Kowrin and Dal Praker. Given the fragile and sloppy terrain of the area, the delegation urged the XEN to ensure that executing agencies carry out side-by-side protection wall work along with earthwork to prevent landslides, road damage, and potential disasters.

Responding to the concerns, XEN Er. Sansar Singh assured the delegation that the submitted representation would be examined carefully and appropriate steps would be taken to expedite DPR preparation, ensure equitable road prioritisation, and implement protective measures during construction activities.

The Samadhaan Foundation thanked the Executive Engineer for his patient hearing and reiterated its commitment to advocating for sustainable and safe infrastructure development in the remote hilly areas of Pogal Paristan and Senabhati.
