SRINAGAR DECM,16:-The Jammu & Kashmir Women’s Development Corporation (JKWDC) today organised a one-day Mega Awareness Camp-cum-Loan Mela at Government Degree College (GDC) Women, Pulwama. The programme was sponsored by the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India.
The event was graced by Ms Shahida Khan, District Manager JKWDC Pulwama, along with Mr Bashir Ahmad, District Manager JKWDC Anantnag, and faculty members of GDC Women Pulwama. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by Ms Shahida Khan, accompanied by Rayees Ahmad and her dedicated team.
Among those present on the occasion were Dr Nisar Ahmad, Dr Nasreen, and Dr Gulzar from GDC Women Pulwama; Dr Javid from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO); Ms Samreena Andrabi, Supervisor; and officials from the CDPO Office.
The camp aimed to create awareness—particularly among women—about various self-employment, livelihood, and financial assistance schemes offered by JKWDC and NMDFC, with a special focus on promoting women’s economic independence and entrepreneurship.
A large number of participants, including local women entrepreneurs, students, and aspiring beneficiaries, actively participated in the programme and lauded JKWDC’s efforts for bringing such initiatives closer to the community.
While addressing the gathering, the dignitaries underscored the importance of women coming forward to avail government-sponsored livelihood and self-employment schemes to ensure sustainable income generation and empowerment. Faculty members of GDC Women Pulwama and health officials also delivered informative sessions on women’s safety, legal rights, health awareness, and various women empowerment schemes, which were highly appreciated by the attendees.
On the occasion, scheme brochures were released to further disseminate information about the welfare and financial assistance programmes available under JKWDC and NMDFC.
District Manager Ms Shahida Khan briefed the participants in detail about the loan products, eligibility criteria, and benefits under various JKWDC and NMDFC schemes. She expressed gratitude to the higher authorities for facilitating such impactful outreach initiatives, especially in rural and semi-urban areas.
Reiterating its commitment, JKWDC pledged to continue its dedicated efforts towards women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship development, and financial inclusion across Jammu & Kashmir.
