34 Schools Booked for MDM Violations in Rajouri; 2 Teachers Suspended After Surprise Inspection

RAJOURI DECM, 05:-In a major late-night development, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri has suspended two teachers, withheld salaries of staff in 11 schools, and issued strict show-cause notices to 34 institutions after a district-wide surprise inspection exposed massive violations in the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) scheme and poor academic performance.

A high-level inspection team visited 200 schools on December 3, 2025, uncovering serious lapses in punctuality, work culture, and food served under the MDM scheme.

Key Findings:

34 schools failed to serve meals as per the approved menu

11 schools recorded poor academic performance

7 schools violated both academics and MDM norms

In two schools, no meal was cooked at all

Two teachers found leaving campus after marking attendance

 Teachers Suspended:

Farnaz Kouser, PS Dhara Pathana — attached to HS Lower Bhangai

Mohammad Altaf, PS Namble Kalyan — attached to HS Kallar

Salary Withheld:
All masters and teachers of the 11 academically weak schools (Annexure-B) will not receive their December 2025 salary, pending improvements.

 48-Hour Deadline:
Staff of 34 schools (Annexure-A) must submit written explanations within 48 hours, or face disciplinary action.

The CEO has issued a strong warning: any further negligence in MDM implementation or academics will invite strict action without further notice.
