SRINAGAR OCT 30:-MLA Rajouri, Iftkhar Ahmed, on Wednesday raised several significant public issues in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, drawing attention to the impact of development projects and administrative shortcomings in the region.
He highlighted the unemployment caused by the Katra ropeway project, which has adversely affected palki carriers, horse owners, and shopkeepers who depended on traditional means of livelihood.
The MLA also expressed concern over the delay in shifting the Mother and Child Hospital, the shortage of staff at GMC Rajouri, and the administrative lapses at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), including delays in promotions, unfilled vacancies, and the absence of a permanent Registrar.
Calling for structural reforms, Ahmed urged the government to formulate a comprehensive funds policy aimed at ensuring financial stability and job security for the media fraternity in Jammu and Kashmir.
