Emphasized to focus on habitations most affected due to heavy rains
RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 02:- District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting at Dak Bungalow Rajouri to assess the restoration of water supply Schemes.
*During the meeting, the DDC emphasized the need to set up public stand posts in major water-affected areas to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply to the public, particularly in view of the recent heavy rainfall*. He also reviewed the water supply issues caused by power disruptions and directed the concerned officers to submit a list of affected areas to the Executive Engineer, PDD, for ensuring scheduled pumping operations.
*Furthermore, DDC conducted a scheme-wise review of all ongoing projects under JJM. He directed the ADC Kalakote to conduct an enquiry into the Jigni scheme and sought immediate resolution of the delay in allotment at Bhawani A Panchayat. He noted that pump rooms for nine schemes are still pending and instructed the officers to expedite their completion.*
*In addition, the DC directed all ADCs and SDMs to personally inspect the progress of JJM works in their respective jurisdictions at least once every fortnight to ensure proper implementation of scheme*. He further emphasized resolving minor issues for schemes nearing completion and directed that all completed schemes be certified by Gram Sabhas.
The meeting was attended by ADC Rajouri Chander Prakash, ADC Kalakote Tanvir Ahmed, ADC Kotranka Dilmir, ADC Nowshera Pritam Lal Thapa, SDM Thanamandi Abid Hussain, SE PWD Tilak Raj Sharma, Ex En PDD Abdul Rasheed, Ex En PWD Rajouri Aftab Anwar, Ex En PWD Nowshera Sarwar Mehmood, and other district and sectoral officers.
