RAJOURI AUGUST 29:-Senior PDP leader Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi has sounded the alarm over the deepening administrative crisis in the University, pointing to the prolonged absence of a full-time Registrar and Chief Accounts Officer (CAO), which has brought vital academic and administrative functions to a near standstill.
Inqlabi noted that the post of Registrar has remained vacant for over six months, with an overburdened district-level officer holding the additional charge. Due to pressing responsibilities in the district administration, the official has been unable to dedicate adequate time or attention to University affairs.
Similarly, the charge of Chief Accounts Officer lies with an officer from a separate engineering department, who is also unable to devote necessary focus to the financial and operational needs of the University.
“The result is administrative stagnation,” Inqlabi said. “Students are suffering, staff are demoralized, and even routine matters are stuck in limbo. There is no accountability, no progress, and no vision being implemented—all due to the lack of permanent leadership.”
He warned that the continued neglect of such an important institution poses a serious threat to the academic future of the region’s youth. “The University is not just a building—it is a symbol of aspiration and growth for thousands of students. Its systematic decline under the weight of administrative indifference is unacceptable.”
Inqlabi appealed to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor to take immediate and personal notice of the situation. “It is imperative that a full-time Registrar and Chief Accounts Officer be posted without further delay to restore basic functionality and uphold the dignity of the institution,” he stated.
He concluded by urging the administration to treat the issue as a top priority and act before the situation worsens further.
