PHASE 2,DAY1: Back to Village programme

Rajouri 22: The first day of second phase of the eight day long ambitious “Back to Village” programme continued with enthusiasm, synergy and in a healthy atmosphere at 80 panchayats of district Rajouri.

On the first day of the second phase, the visiting officers organised several interaction programss in different panchayats in which huge public including senior citizens, stakeholders, retired government employees, youth and women participated. The officers apprised the people of various central and state government schemes which are meant for the well being of the general public.

The people put forth various demands and issues before the officers including
improvement in drinking water supply, unsheduled power cuts, low voltage, enrollment of farmers in PM Kisan scheme, requirement of electrical poles,repairing of damaged roads, old age pension etc.

After the inaugural interaction session the visiting officer inspected the developmental works in the panchayats executed by the RDD,PWD.Later they also inspected the water supply scheme and other traditional water bodies.

Taking stock of the schemes the visiting officers posted in winter zone inspected the mid day meal scheme and checked the meal being served to the students.They also inspected the Anagwandi centres checked the rations as well.

The visiting officer also inaugurated number of developmental work like the culverts,Fish farms,connecting paths and bridges being constructed by RDD,PWD and by other departments.

During the programme the officers visited the PHCs and checked the availability if essential life saving drugs.and requirements of man Force.

Meanwhile the DDC Rajouri conducted an extensive tour of various panchayats of Manjakote area and felicitated the visiting officers.
The Assistant Commissioner Development Akhter Qazi and District Panchayat officer Dr Abdul Khabir also visited various panchayats and also held interaction with the visiting officers and the general public.

The public was also made aware about the objectives of the programme in most of the panchayts. They said the interactions were conducted to get the first hand appraisal of the loopholes and to get the suggestion how the scheme should have been implemented.

While inspecting the developmental works, the visiting officers urged the sarpanches panches and senior citizens to show their active role in making plans for developmental activities keeping in view the available resources in the panchayts.

The public appriciated this step of governor administration and they are hopeful that government will continue to conduct such programmes in future for ensuring grass route level democracy.
