Major Traffic Enforcement Drive in Rajouri: 17 Vehicles Seized, 29 Challaned in Joint Police-MVD Action

RAJOURI, JUNE 25:– In a significant crackdown on traffic rule violations, the District Police Rajouri in collaboration with the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) conducted a major enforcement drive along the Rajouri highway on Tuesday. The operation led to the seizure of 17 vehicles and issuance of 29 challans, with fines totaling ₹1,11,600.

The joint naka was spearheaded by DySP Headquarters Satish Kumar, ARTO Rajouri Rajesh Gupta, and MVI Rahul Singh, who monitored the intensive checking operation aimed at tightening compliance with transport regulations and ensuring road safety.

The crackdown targeted vehicles flouting key regulations, including: Plying without valid Route Permits. Absence or non-functionality of Speed Limiting Devices (SLDs).Lack of valid Fitness Certificates

Officials revealed that the seized vehicles were found grossly violating mandatory transport norms, endangering road users. The team reiterated that such defaulters would face stringent consequences under the Motor Vehicles Act.

“This is part of a broader initiative to promote safe and disciplined driving practices. Surprise inspections and regular enforcement will continue across the district,” said a senior officer overseeing the drive.
