SRINAGAR JUNE 05:– In a significant show of solidarity and strength, the Mahila Wing of the Congress Party, under the directions of JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra, held a protest in Srinagar under the leadership of Pradesh Mahila Congress President J&K Shameema Raina against BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa for his derogatory remarks concerning Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.
The protest, attended by prominent members of the Mahila Wing, was held in response to the offensive comments made by Randhawa, which have been widely criticized for undermining the dignity of women in politics. The event aimed to highlight the need for respect and decorum in political discourse, particularly towards influential female leaders.
Shameema Raina, President of the Mahila Wing, addressed the gathering, condemning the derogatory remarks and emphasizing the importance of empowering women in politics. “We stand united against any form of disrespect towards our leaders. Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi represent not only Congress party but also the aspirations of countless women across the nation. Such comments are not just an attack on them, but an affront to all women who strive for equality and justice,” Raina stated passionately.
The protest served as a platform for women from various backgrounds to voice their concerns and reaffirm their commitment to fighting against misogyny and derogatory rhetoric in politics. The Mahila Wing called on all political parties to promote a culture of respect and to engage in constructive dialogue rather than resorting to personal attacks.
The Congress Party remains steadfast in its resolve to uphold the dignity of its leaders and to advocate for a political landscape that respects and empowers women.
