**CDS conducts a strategic review and operational assessment following Operation Sindoor.
RAJOURI MAY 25:-Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Sunday (May 25) visited the Indian Army’s Northern Command at Udhampur, Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, and the Western Command at Chandimandir Military Station, Haryana.
He interacted with Army Commanders Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma (Udhampur) and Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar (Chandimandir), along with senior staff officers actively involved in the planning and execution of Operation Sindoor.
During his visit, General Chauhan conducted a strategic review and operational assessment of both the Northern and Western theatres.
At Udhampur, the CDS was briefed on the Northern Army’s success in neutralising terror networks, targeting adversary assets supporting terrorism, and implementing countermeasures to protect military installations and the civilian population during Operation Sindoor.
The Northern Army Commander provided an update on operational and logistics preparedness and assured the CDS of continued commitment to border protection and the eradication of terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir.
At Chandimandir, the Western Army Commander presented a comprehensive briefing on both kinetic and non-kinetic punitive measures undertaken during the operation. A detailed overview of the operational environment, defence preparedness, and key outcomes was shared, highlighting the prevailing security scenario along the Western borders.
Emphasis was also placed on the infusion of advanced technologies and enhanced logistical capabilities, which have contributed to improved operational efficiency, real-time situational awareness, and overall military readiness.
The CDS was also briefed on initiatives related to Veterans’ Care and Medicare facilities, underscoring the Army’s dedication to the welfare of serving and retired personnel.
General Anil Chauhan paid tribute to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice during Operation Sindoor, praising the valour, discipline, and precision of all ranks involved. He acknowledged the operational excellence demonstrated by field formations across Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab.
Commending the synergy and timely execution of operational objectives under challenging conditions, the CDS stressed the importance of continued vigilance, jointness, and inter-service cooperation to address emerging threats. He also urged efforts toward the rehabilitation of civilians affected by enemy action.
General Chauhan expressed his deep appreciation for the exemplary conduct and success of the military operations, reaffirming the nation’s faith in its Armed Forces.
He attributed the achievements to the high morale, professionalism, and unwavering dedication of the Indian Army.
