RAJOURI MAY 24:-In a bid to enhance road safety and enforce traffic regulations, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Rajouri conducted a major enforcement drive across the district today. The initiative was carried out under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma.
The drive Led by ARTO Rajouri, Rajesh Gupta, along with MVI Rahul Singh and other staff of the department, the drive targeted key violations contributing to road mishaps. The team issued 32 challans, collecting penalties @ Rs. 67,900. In addition, four vehicles were seized for serious breaches of motor vehicle rules.
The crackdown primarily focused on curbing the illegal transportation of goods in passenger vehicles, overloading, and overspeeding—practices identified as leading causes of road accidents in the region.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to road safety and emphasized zero tolerance towards traffic violations. “Strict enforcement will continue to ensure public safety and adherence to traffic norms,” he said.
