***Out of 11 passengers, seven were rescued, 3 died, and body of a newborn is still missing.
RAJOURI APRIL 07:-The body of an Indian woman who went missing after a Xylo vehicle fell into the Pulastya River in the Kalai area of the Poonch district was recovered on Monday- one month and ten days later- from Tetrinote, located in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
The river is known as “Dariya-e-Poonch” in PoJK.
Information about the discovery of the body was conveyed to this side through POJK social media platforms. Following this, it is now expected that the woman’s body will be handed over to Indian authorities in the next one or two days.
It is noteworthy that on the night of 27th February 2025, an Xylo vehicle lost control and plunged into the Pulastya River near Kalai on the Poonch-Jammu National Highway.
Out of 11 passengers, seven persons were rescued by police and SDRF on February 27, and 4 had gone missing, including a newborn, two women, and a man.
During the next 1-2 days, the bodies of Shaheen Akhter, a resident of Manjakot-Rajouri, and Abdul Aziz were recovered.
With the recovery of women’s body from Tetritone area in PoJK, now new born bay is missing out of 11 passengers.
Search and rescue operations were carried out by the police, SDRF, and NDRF teams from Jammu, but the bodies and newborn could not be located at that time. It is believed that due to the strong current, the body was swept across the Line of Control and got buried under sand at some point.
