RAJOURI DEC 24:– Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Mohammad Farooq Inqlabi, strongly criticized the current functioning of Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri. In a statement issued here today, Inqlabi expressed deep concern over the deteriorating healthcare services in the institution, calling it a “slay” for the patients.
He pointed out that the tragic death of Ramzeem Akhter from Badhal was not an isolated incident but rather a part of a growing trend. According to Inqlabi, the GMC Rajouri’s failure to provide timely and adequate medical care has become routine, leaving countless patients in peril.
“This is not just about one individual case; it’s a matter of concern for the entire region. The negligence in the functioning of GMC Rajouri is alarming. We have seen many instances where the hospital has failed to meet basic healthcare standards, and the loss of lives is a direct consequence of that. Ramzeem Akhter’s death is a stark reminder of the situation,” Inqlabi stated.
Inqlabi further urged the government and health authorities to take immediate action and ensure that the hospital is equipped with the necessary resources, staff, and infrastructure to meet the needs of the local population. He called on the administration to hold accountable those responsible for the poor healthcare delivery in the region.
“People are losing faith in the healthcare system. The government must intervene and make GMC Rajouri functional and responsive to the needs of the public. The lives of the people cannot continue to be put at risk due to administrative inefficiency,” Inqlabi added.
Inqlabi concluded by demanding an inquiry into the matter and called for urgent steps to improve the functioning of GMC Rajouri, ensuring that no more precious lives are lost due to negligence.
