RAJOURI DEC 23:–In a historic move, the ‘Ace of Spades Gunners’ organized the inaugural Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Diwas at Talle Camp Helipad, Nowshera. The event, graced by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Ace of Spades Division, celebrated the legacy of the revered Sikh warrior while fostering community unity and service.
The day’s highlights included a free medical camp that provided vital healthcare services to the local populace, alongside wellness-focused stalls set up by the Ayush Department. The SDM Office also contributed by showcasing information on government schemes and citizen services, ensuring attendees had access to valuable resources.
A special felicitation ceremony recognized the sacrifices of Veer Naris (war widows) and ex-servicemen, underscoring their immense contributions to the nation. To inspire the younger generation, the GOC unveiled a portrait and booklet on Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, emphasizing his achievements and the values he championed.
In his address, the GOC praised the legendary leader, urging the audience to follow a righteous path and continue fostering cooperation with the Indian Army. He emphasized the significance of Awaam-Army relations in promoting community development and national unity.
The event attracted over 200 participants, including students, locals, and veterans, who actively engaged in the celebrations. Through this initiative, the Indian Army not only honored the enduring legacy of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur but also reaffirmed its commitment to empowering communities and strengthening bonds of unity and service.
