SRINAGAR DEC 18:- Shabnum Jan, the Mahila Congress District President of Shopian and a dedicated member of the All India Mahila Congress, spearheaded a significant protest today in Srinagar aimed at voicing critical demands concerning the socio-political landscape of the region.
The protesters gathered to advocate for the restoration of #Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Jan emphasized that restoring statehood is not just a political necessity, but a fundamental right of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In addition to advocating for statehood, the protest also called for immediate action against Adani Group concerning issues that affect local communities and businesses. The participants expressed their concerns regarding the impact of corporate practices on regional resources and the livelihoods of ordinary citizens.
Furthermore, the demonstrators raised their voices for normalcy in Manipur, underscoring the urgent need for peace and stability in the northeastern state, where ongoing strife has led to significant humanitarian concerns.
Shabnum Jan stated, “We stand united in our demands for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It is imperative that the central government acknowledges the voices of the citizens and takes decisive action to restore statehood, hold corporations accountable, and ensure peace in regions affected by conflict.”
