Later in the day, MLA Iftikhar Ahmed, accompanied by the Executive Officer (EO) of the Municipal Committee Rajouri (MCR), visited the Salani area, a site long plagued by waste management issues. During his visit, the MLA announced the establishment of a modern recycling plant at the site. โ€œWe are taking concrete steps to address the waste management issues here in Salani. A state-of-the-art recycling plant will be set up soon to process household waste, ensuring it is recycled instead of being dumped in open areas,โ€ he said. The plant is expected to promote sustainability and significantly improve the area’s environmental health.

The announcement of the recycling plant aligns with the MLAโ€™s ongoing efforts to enhance the region’s infrastructure while ensuring environmental preservation.

In a somber moment, MLA Iftikhar Ahmed also expressed his condolences on the passing of Jagjeet Singh, son of the late Lambardar Sh. Bhagwan Singh and brother of Ex-Sarpanch Captain Joginder Singh of Sawani. In his message, the MLA conveyed his deep sorrow and praised the late Jagjeet Singh for his valuable contributions to the community.

โ€œI am deeply saddened by the loss of Jagjeet Singh Ji. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, especially to his brother Captain Joginder Singh Ji.
