RAJOURI NOV 27:-The administration, in collaboration with the traffic police, is taking stringent measures to alleviate the persistent traffic congestion in Rajouri city. As part of this effort, white parking stripes are being marked across key areas in the city, and any vehicle found parked in front of these stripes will be immediately confiscated and fined.
The most significant traffic jams have been reported in Rajouri, and District Development Commissioner Abhishek Sharma is working closely with the traffic police to resolve this issue. White stripes are being painted along major routes such as the stretch from the Medical College to Salani Bridge, Panja Chowk, Jawahar Nagar, Abdullah Bridge, and the Bus Station. The Public Works Department began laying the stripes on Wednesday, with the project expected to be completed within two days.
Previously, vehicles were often parked indiscriminately along these roads, causing severe traffic jams throughout the day. This led to considerable inconvenience for commuters, particularly schoolchildren. With the new initiative, there is hope that the flow of traffic will improve, providing much-needed relief to the public.
In addition, street vendors will be required to set up their stalls only behind the white line. Any vendor found operating beyond the designated area will face strict action from the city council, including the confiscation of their carts. The administration hopes these measures will help reduce congestion and improve the overall traffic situation in the city.
