Assembly Elections-2024: Out of 48 nominations for 5 ACs, 9 rejected in Rajouri.

RAJOURI SEPT 06:--Out of the 48 nominations filed for 5 Assembly constituencies in Rajouri district, 39 were found valid and 9 were rejected after scrutiny of papers on Friday (September 6).
September 9 is the last date for the withdrawal of nominations.
According to the Returning Officer for 87-Thanamandi (ST) AC, 8 candidates filed their nomination papers out of which 6 nominations have been accepted.
Returning Officer Assembly Constituency 86-Budhal (ST) informed that out of 7 nominations filed, 2 have been rejected.
14 candidates had filed nominations for 85-Rajouri Assembly constituency, out of which 12 nominations have been found valid.
According to RO 84-Nowshera Assembly Constituency, out of 8 nominations filed 3 nominations have been rejected while RO 83-Kalakote-Sunderbani Assembly Constituency informed that all the 11 nominations were found valid.
With the final list of candidates for 5 Assembly Constituencies has been declared by the election authorities, hectic political activities, including campaigning, rallies, village level meetings, have been witnessed on Friday.
In a significant development and according to affidavits filed by the candidates, Ch Zulfikar Ali, former cabinet minister and former PDP MLA (from Darhal constituency in 2014) and BJP candidate from Budhal constituency is the richest candidate.
He is having immovable property worth Rs having about 3 crores & immovable property worth about Rs 18 crores.
On the other hand State BJP President and ex-MLA Nowshera (BJP-2014), Ravinder Kumar Raina & presently BJP candidate from AC 84-Nowshera having only Rs1000 cash and a government quarter in Jammu as per affidavit filed by him.
