48 candidates filed nomination papers for 5 Assembly seats of Rajouri District

RAJOURI SEPT, 05:–As many as 48 candidates, including registered political parties and independents, have filed their nomination papers for 5 Assembly Constituencies in Rajouri district on the last day of filing nomination papers for the second phase.
According to the Election Commission notification the scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on September 6 while the last date for the withdrawal of candidates is September 9.
The polling for the second phase for 26 assembly constituencies, including 8 of Rajouri & Poonch districts, will be held on September 25.
After the last day of filing of nominations papers for 5 Assembly constituencies of Rajouri district, multi-cornered contests are expected on all the seats in the first assembly poll after the abrogation of Article 370.
According to the details provided by Nodal Officer-District Election Control Room Rajouri 11 candidates, including 5 independents, have filed nominations in 83- Kalakote-Sunderbani Assembly Constituency (AC)
Candidates include Randhir Singh (BJP), Yashu Vardhan Singh (JKNC), Ashok Kumar (DPAP), Rakesh Kumar (Shiv Sena-UBT), Arun Kumar (JK Apni Party), Majid Hussai (JK PDP) and independent candidates Pinty Devi, Suresh Kumar, Pankaj Kumar, Kabir Ahmed & Swarn Kumar.
For 84-Nowshera AC, 8 candidates have filed their nomination papers. The candidates include Surinder Kumar Choudhary (JK NC), Sakrant Singh JK NC-substitute), Haq Nawaz (JK PDP), Dr Manohar Singh (BSP), Ravinder Kumar Raina (BJP), Rakesh Sharma (BJP-substitute) and two independents namely Shiv Dev Sharma.
For 85 -Rajouri AC 14 candidates have filed nomination papers, including 7 independents.
Tasadiq Hussain (JK PDP), Iftkhar Ahmed (INC), Shazia Kousar (INC-substitute), Vibodh Gupta (BJP), Kapil Dev (BJP-substitute), Rafaqat Ajaz (Azad Samaj Party), Manzoor Hussain (JK Apni Party).
Independent candidates include Mohd Arif, Zubair Ahmed Raza, Ch Talib Hussain, Mohammad Iqbal, Sushil Kumar Sharma, Mian Mohd Mehfooz, & Hemakant Sharma.
For 86-BUdhal AC 7 candidates, including one independent, have filed their nomination papers.
These include Guftar Ahmed (JK PDP), Ch Zulfkar Ali (BJP), Dev Raj Sharma (BJP-substitute), Javaid Iqbal (JK NC), Shazia Kousar (JK NC-substitute), Abdul Rashid (BSP), and Abdul Rouf Malik (Independent).
8 candidates, including 2 independents, have filed nomination papers for newly carved 87-Thanamandi AC.
Candidates include Ch Qamar Hussain (JK PDP), Irfan Anjum (JK AP), Mohd Iqbal Malik (BJP), Abdul Qayoom Mir (BJP-substitute), Mushtaq Ahmed (All JK LDP), Mohd Shabir Khan (INC), & independents namely Muzaffar Iqbal Khan & Astkhar Ali Ahmed.
