Major jolt to Pakistan sponsored terror ahead of Lok Sabha Polls.

RAJOURI, APRIL 17:–Pakistan sponsored terrorism in J&K has suffered a major jolt on Wednesday when Security Forces foiled a possible attempt by the terrorists to disrupt the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections for Anantnag-Rajouri Constituency and recovered three ready-to-use IEDs from their hideout in Mendhar subdivision of Poonch district.
Two improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were concealed in the tiffin boxes weighing between 3 to 5 kgs while the third, weighing between 15-20 kgs, was concealed inside a steel container.
All the IEDs had two mechanisms for triggering explosions.
The Security Forces also recovered 1-bundle of electric wire, batteries, medicines, and clothes from the hideout made between two big rocks in a forest in the general area of Passanwali-Sanaigali under the jurisdiction of Gursai police station.
Official sources said that input about the presence/movement of a group of 2-3 armed terrorists in this area was generated by the CRPF Jammu.
“On specific intelligence inputs a joint team of 246 Bn CRPF, 37 RR and Special Operation Group (SOG) Mendhar launched a search & destroy operation at about 6 am on April 17 under the overall supervision of 2IC 246 Bn CRPF, Rajneesh Kumar. And SDPO Mendhar.
After following every security SOP, the troops busted the terrorist hideout and recovered the IEDs & other items. No arrest was made from the area, as per reports.
Later all the three IEDs were destroyed on the spot by the bomb disposal squad in a controlled explosion.
The recovery of the IEDs foiled a major terrorist’s plan to carry out an attack and to disrupt the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
