RAJOURI, APRIL 12:–Deputy Director Planning, Samagra Shiksha (SS), Bilal Rashid on Friday visited Rajouri and resolved a long pending land issue for the construction of 2 Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose hostels (100 bedded each) at Rajouri and at Thandikassi.
Bilal Rashid visited the sites of construction on the direction and supervision of Project Director, Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Rakesh Magotra, JKAS.

On the directions of Project Director, SAMAGRA SHIKSHA Rakesh Magotra, JKAS and under his overall supervision, Deputy Director Planning, SAMAGRA SHIKSHA, Bilal Rashid visited the DIET Rajouri, Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Rajouri and High School Thandikassi, to sort out the long pending Land issues and monitor the progress of work.

Bilal Rashid informed that, 2 Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose hostels have been sanctioned by Ministry of Education (MoE) GoI at a Cost of Rs. 3.50 crores each during 2022-23 & 24 FY, but the construction of the same could not be started due to non-availability of land.
“During recently held review meeting Administrative Secretary, School Education, Dr Piyush Singla, IAS, issued direction for making functional all the constructed Girls Hostels and expedite the construction of Newly sanctioned Neta Ji Hostels to provide quality education to children at their doorstep across UT of J&K,” said Bilal Rashid.

Administrative Secretary also instructed to first assess the land feasibility before the execution of construction of hostels for the schools.During inspection and deciding of land for the construction of two hostels, engineers of PWD(R&B).

It is pertinent to mention that for the children of disadvantaged groups of the society, & from far flung areas,2 Hotels were sanctioned for Boys HSS Rajouri and HS Thandikassi.

During the visit, Engineers from PWD(R&B) & SS Department and Engineers from also accompanied Bilal Rashid.
At Rajouri the land was identified with the help of Principal Boys HSS Rajouri, & Chief Education Officer.

“Samagra Shiksha wing of the School Education Department is very keen to provide good & adequate infrastructure to the government schools and that is why he has been deputed by Project Director SS to visit the sites for two hostels so that construction may be taken up after issuing of tenders immediately after MCC is over,” said Deputy Director Planning SS, Bilal Rashid.

He also visited a high school at Thandikassi, where a piece of state land is identified in the periphery, for which a request shall be made to Revenue authorities for transfer of land.
Later Bilal Rashid inspected the civil work for the construction of laboratories, training hall, and office accommodation which was executed with an allotted cost of Rs.1.43 crores.

He asked the executing agency to expedite the pace of work.
He said that the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Hostels act as an inspiration to the children and also motivate the teachers, staff and administration to enable them to achieve high standards of excellence.
The Land for the construction of the already approved Auditorium at DIET Complex Rajouri with a cost of Rs. 1.03 Crores was also identified in presence of DIET Staff, as the same was sanctioned in 2019-20 but due to various constraints, could not be constructed.He asked the executing Agency, that there is no shortage of funds and more than 50% funds stand already released.
A piece of research on 8 th Class examination & Assessments was also presented to Bilal Rashid, carried out by Mohd Riaz Lecturer and Ms. Nahida Lone, Lecturer working in DIET Rajouri under Research Activities of Samagra Shiksha.
