RAJOURI MARCH 17:–A body of a man-who was a resident of Kalakot- was recovered on Sunday after 20 days of his missing in a river near Chingus along Jammu-Poonch highway under Rajouri police jurisdiction.
Some locals found the body in a river in Sangpura (Chingus) area following which an operation was launched by the police & locals to retrieve the body.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Mushtaq, a resident of Kurlian in Kalakote tehsil.
The body is under possession of police for medico-legal formalities and will be handed over to family on Monday after postmortem.
Cousin of the deceased informed that Mohammad Mushtaq left house on February 26 to visit a house of a relative in Dalhori area.
Instead of reaching Dalhori, Mushtaq went missing and couldn’t be traced as his phone was switched off.
On February 28, a missing report was lodged at Kalakote police station and Mushtaq’s last location was located near the new bus stand at Rajouri, he added.
“After twenty days Mushtaq’s body was recovered from a river wrapped in a bag, which is a clear indication of murder and involvement of money transaction can’t be ruled out in this crime because the deceased, a father of 4 children, was a Nomad,” cousin added.
He demanded a transparent and detailed investigation into the alleged murder of Mushtaq.
The police have started an investigation in this matter.
