SRINAGAR JANUARY 23:–Maroof Khan Calls for Swift Action Against Communal Hate Speech by a tourist in Kashmir was reported to have made the statement, “Jahan Jahan pe Masjid hai woh Khudwake Mandir Banaye.
Maroof Khan, a distinguished political figure known for advocating unity and inclusivity, strongly denounces recent inflammatory remarks targeting a specific religious community. A tourist in Kashmir was reported to have made the divisive statement, “Jahan Jahan pe masjid hai woh khudwake Mandir Banaye,” (Build a temple wherever there is a mosque). posing a potential threat to our cherished social fabric.
In light of this, Maroof Khan urgently appeals to J&K Police for immediate and effective measures against the individual responsible for spreading communal hatred. Such divisive statements have the potential to disrupt the seamless coexistence within our diverse society, jeopardizing the tranquility that defines our region.
Mr. Khan underscores the importance of expressing opinions respectfully, without singling out any particular community. He articulates, “We endorse the construction of Masjid’s, Temples, gurdwaras, Church and all places of worship. However, targeting a specific community is regrettable. Such words can sow seeds of discord and pose a risk to law and order in our society.”
