Youth’s death triggers a protest in AHGMC Rajouri. People’s allegation: Patient died due to alleged negligence of doctors. Hospital administration: Tried best to resuscitate the patient.

RAJOURI OCTOBER 23:--The relatives of a 27 year old heart disease patient, who died in the Associated Hospital Government Medical College (AHGMC) Rajouri in the late evening hours on Monday, allegedly manhandled the staff and also damaged some stuff alleging the patient died due to the negligence of the hospital staff.
The death of one Sikander @ Bheema triggered protest and the relatives, kin and well wishers alleged that Bheema died due to negligence of hospital staff as no doctor was available on duty in the emergency room.
“The deceased was a poor plumber and was to leave for New Delhi on Wednesday after appointment of a doctor” said a relative.
After the violent protest against the hospital staff/ administration, other patients in the emergency informed that no doctor is available for the treatment of the patients & they are suffering, including a poision case patient.
On the other hand hospital sources said that the deceased, Sikander Abas @ Bheema resident of Rajouri town was a known case of heart disease.
Bheema earlier had undergone surgery and was brought to GMC hospital 3 days back with some complaints.
“Doctors after treatment & getting the patient stabilised advised the attendants to consult a heart surgeon in a higher facility (at Jammu or where he was operated)” said hospital administration.
Administration added, instead going for consultation in a higher facility, the patient was again brought to hospital emergency today evening in a serious condition.
Doctors on duty tried their best to resuscitate the patient but despite all resuscitative measures, the patient couldn’t be saved & died within half an hour.
Angered over the death, the attendants manhandled the hospital staff and also damaged the hospital property.
On getting information about the violent incident a police team headed by senior officers rushed to the AH GMC and took control of the situation
