JAMMU AUGUST O4:–Lawyers delegation meets former Chief Minister and Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad with regard to non-shifting of High Court to Raika Forests.
The delegation apprised Former Chief Minister that reserve forests/green lungs of Jammu have shrink from 60 square kms to 6 square kms, further damage to green lung cause havoc to jammuties. It was also disclosed that sufficient land over 600 kanals is available with high court complex Janipur wherein structures with unique landscape were 23 years back and DPR for thirty five court rooms was approved in recent past on the instance of the then Hon’ble chief justice. When sufficient land is available for any type of expansion there is no use of damaging the biodiversity at Raika. He was also apprised that metro link project is on way, adjoining ammunition depot and nearby wildlife stands already shifted.
