Major surgeries started at Nowshera sub district hospital.

RAJOURI, JUNE 21:–In a first, major general surgeries started at the Sub District Hospital (SDH) Nowshera under the supervision of Block Medical Officer (BMO), Dr. Iqbal Malik, who recently took charge of the Medical Block Nowshera.
On Wednesday Dr. Bilal Ahmed Bhat (MS General Surgery) & Dr. Wasim Chouhan (Anaesthetist) performed major Gall Bladder removal surgeries (Cholecystectomy) in a hypertensive female patient suffering from Gall Bladder stones disease (urgerCholelithiasis) for the last 2 years.
Another surgery left Inguinal Mesh Hernioplasty for left Inguinal Hernia in a 35-year male patient was also performed successfully.
Anaesthesia was provided by Dr. Wasim Chouhan (Anaesthesia, ICU and Critical care specialist).
The surgical team includes Dr. Bilal Ahmed Bhat, MO SDH Nowshera (MS Surgery, GMC Srinagar), Koushal Sharma & Pankaj Sharma, both OT technicians, Sadaq, Raman and & other team members.
“Both patients are recovering well in the general ward of SDH Nowshera.
For the first time in the history of Nowshera, Dr. Waseem and Dr. Bilal performed Gallbladder surgery,” said Dr. Iqbal Malik, BMO.
He added, earlier patients were going to GMC at Rajouri or in Jammu for these surgical procedures.
