RAJOURI, APRIL 26:–Army with the help of J&K Police, & Paramilitary Forceas left no stone unturned to track, trace and eliminate the perpetrator who on April 20 at about 3 pm ambushed an Army vehicle in which five soldiers were killed in the attack and one was injured.
Five Army personnel of Rashtriya Rifles Unit, deployed for counter-terror operations, who attained martyrdom were carrying fruits and other items for the proposed Iftar gathering in Sangiote village.
After the gruesome attack top Army, BSF, and Police officers, including Northern Army Commander, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi; Director General BSF, S.L. Thaosen , and Additional DGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh, besides NIA and NSG teams visited the terror attack stop at Bhata Dhurian in Mendaher tehsil of Poonch district.
Senior Commanders in command in both the border districts of Rajouri & Poonch, briefed Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi on the actions undertaken so far.
Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi also reviewed the operational situation and preparedness after the terror attack.
Several suspects, including over-ground workers (OGWs), have been detained for questioning to get leads to track down the perpetrators involved in the deadly attack on an Army truck.
Even on 5th day of the cowardly attack on he army truck by Pakistan- sponsored militants, no contact was established with them during massive search and combing operation launched by the SFs in both the districts.
Security Forces also take the help of drones, sniffer dogs and an MI chopper to track down the terrorists in dense forests in Bhata Dhurian and adjoining areas.
Additional Forces are being deployed in both districts to plug all the escape routes for the terrorists and to prevent any such incidents in the future.
The perpetrators of Dhangri massacre (terror attack), in which 7 persons, including two minors, were killed on January 1 & 2, the two terrorists involved in the attack under a well-planned strategy disappeared from the village with the help of OGWs and are still un-traced.
The terrorists involved in an attack on the Army truck seem to be trained by the Pakistan army in jungle/guerrilla warfare as they attacked the truck from three sides and gave no time to soldiers to retaliate.
The terrorists also decamped with the weapons of martyrs. It was a well-planned attack and the terrorists involved, like in the Dhangri terror attack, disappeared from the area with the help of their local supporters.
