RAJOURI, APRIL, 07:–Block Medical Officer Kotranka in Rajouri district, Dr. Iqbal Malik in a letter to Chief Medical Officer on Thursday (6/4/2023) aske d to take action under the Rules against a dental surgeon posted in CHC at Kotranka for remaining on unauthorised absence from duty since 3/2/2023.
The action against dental surgeon namely Dr. Liaqat Ali Khan is also recommended after protest staged by the inhabitants of Kotranka and adjoining areas against the Health Department for its failure to provide dental health services at CHC, Kotranka.
It is pertinent to mention here that when Dr. Liaqat Ali Khan was posted as a dental surgeon in accidental hospital at Vijaypur (Jammu), a case was registered against him at police station vigilance organisation (Jammu) for investigation under sections 5(1) (d) punishable under section 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt.2006 (for indulging in corrupt, dubious activities).
In the letter to CMO, BMO Kandi mentioned that vide his office letter BMO/K/Adm/2022-23/2307-10 dt 13/3/23 he intimated the CMO that Dr. Liaqat Ali Khan, dental surgeon was unauthorised absent from duty w.e. from 3/2/2023 to date without any leave/prior permission by BMO.
According to Dr. Iqbal Malik, BMO on 9/2/2023 vide his office, an explanation was sought from Dr. Liaqat in this matter, but without any reply.
Later three reminders were sent to Dr. Liaqat ( on February 3, 16, and 21/2023 respectively, but even then no reply was received from the said dental surgeon, read Dr. Iqbal’s letter to CMO.
He added on 27/3/2023 a show cause notice (No.BMO/K/Adm/2022-23/2199-2202)was issued in the name of said dental surgeon but no reply was received & his whereabouts are not known to this office since the date of his absence from the duty.
“Now, therefore, in the backdrop of the above, the matter once again brought to your kind notice for initiating further appropriate action as warranted under rules “ read BMO’s letter to CMO Rajouri.
