RAJOURI, MARCH 29 :–As part of the weekly Block Diwas, a public outreach camp was held at the border village Breri in Nowshera block on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal presided over the event, and a number of issues and demands were raised by the inhabitants of the area.
The issues raised include scarcity of water, speedy implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission schemes, upgradation of Breri Government Girls Middle School to High School, sanctioning of a sub-center at Breri, dilapidated condition of the road at Gai Gangota, shortage of electricity poles/ transformers, sanctioning of a veterinary/ Aangawadi center in every ward, sanctioning of border bunkers and holding special camps for issuing disability certificates.
In response to the issue of water scarcity, the DC stated that dedicated efforts are being made to complete work on JJM schemes in time & the matter related to upgradation of middle school will be taken up with the concerned authorities.
“An adequate number of electricity poles would be provided under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) scheme of the PDD sector,” said the DC and adding that for sanctioning a health sub-center at Breri, the Health Department will be asked to submit a feasibility report at the earliest.
Regarding the dilapidated condition of internal roads, he asked the concerned officer to repair any damage to ensure road safety and also asked to fix any potholes and surface irregularities.
Vikas Kundal directed officials to ensure timely payments for the construction of bunkers and motivated educated and unemployed youth to avail benefits of self-employment schemes and become job creators rather than job seekers.
He briefed the public about the district administration’s initiative towards making Rajouri drug-free and sought their cooperation in the fight against drug abuse.
