Abuse of official powers.DDC initiates inquiry against EO MC Thanamandi.

RAJOURI, MARCH 29:–Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri, Vikas Kundal has initiated an inquiry against Executive Office, Municipal Committee (MC) Thanamandi (additional charge) after an alleged written complaint of serious allegations of misuse of official powers by the EO.

In order to ascertain the facts (allegations in the complaint) DDC Rajouri vide his officer order (No.78-DDCR of 2023) issued on Wednesday has constituted an inquiry committee and directed to furnish a factual report to his office within a week for proceeding further in this matter.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Thanamandi); District Statistics & Evaluation Officer (Rajouri), and Tehsildar (Thanamandi) are the members of the inquiry committee.
“A complaint has been received in this office leveling serious allegations against Mohd Qasim, Executive Officer, who was assigned additional charge of MC Thanamandi to the effect that a large number of works amounting to crores of rupees have been executed horridly near the closing of financial year 2022-23 & lot of compromise was made” DDC order read.

The complainant also alleged that many works of MC Thanamandi were allotted by the PWD Department to kith & kins, which involved great misuse of official position & thus the works are not executed as per prescribed norms.

Other serious allegations made by the complainant against EO MC, Thanamandi (Mohd Qasim) include the drawing of salaries of temporary employees who, actually, are not working physically in MC Thanamandi.

The complainant also requested the DDC, Vikas Kundal for physical verification of MC Thanamandi’s salary bills works done payment bills prepared by EO, Mohd Qasim, who is already involved in huge embezzlement & irregularities & facing many inquiries in the vigilance & crime branch for making huge fraud in nexus with other officials of MC Thanamandi.
