RAJOURI, MARCH 24:–Vide Divisional Commissioner Jammu office order issued on 23rd March 2023, Tehsilda r Darhal in Rajouri district, Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal has been placed under suspension after alleged allegations (by the victim) of demand of illegal gratification and was attached in the office of Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri.
The suspension of the Tehsildar was affected under Rule 31 of J&K Civil Services (CC&A) Rules of 1956 and Divisional Commissioner Jammu has also initiated an inquiry in this matter which will be conducted by Additional DC, Nowshera, Kartar Singh.
The inquiry officer was directed to inquire about the matter and to submit a detailed report to his office within 15 days positively.
“Pending inquiry into his conduct, Mr Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal, Tehsildar Darhal is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect in terms of Rule 31 of J&K Civil Services (CC&A) Rules of 1956 and shall remain attached in the office of Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri” reads Div Com’s order.
Earlier on March 23, on the complaint (written) of one Fazal Rehman, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal vide his office order No.DCR/Est/10 dt 23/3/2023 attached Tehsildar Darhal with his office till the pending inquiry.
According to Deputy Commissioner Order, Fazal Rehman in his written complaint/ personal representation before DC Rajouri alleged that Tehsildar Darhal demanded illegal gratification for providing of records and verification.
“Said complainant (Fazal Rehman) has also provided call recordings purportedly of Tehsildar Darhal wherein demand of Rs 05.00 lac has been made for providing verification of PSP Certificate issued by him in favour of the daughter of the complainant” reads the DC Rajouri order of attachment.
“Therefore, pending further inquiry into the matter, Mirza Mohd Iqbal, Tehsildar Darhal is hereby attached with the Deputy Commissioner’s office Rajouri and the charge of Tehsildar Darhal is given to Tehsildar Thanamandi with immediate effect” Order further read.
