67th day of Dhangri massacre, killers still at large. Inhabitants skip Holi festival in resentment.

RAJOURI, MARCH 08:–Like Lohri, the inhabitants of the Dhangri village in J&K also didn’t celebrate the Holi festival on Wednesday in resentment against the alleged delay in taking action against the perpetrators of Dhangri massacre and against those who helped them in executing the killings of their seven people.
It is pertinent to mention here that at about 6 pm on January 1, two terrorists struck in Dhangri village and killed four people on the spot and several were injured.
Before leaving the village, the terrorists left behind an IED (reportedly fitted with a timer device)which exploded the next day at about 10.15 am.
Two children were killed and 10 others were injured in the IED explosion.
In these twin terror attacks, 7 people were killed and 15 others were injured and a few among them are still under treatment.
The inhabitants of the village and adjoining Panchyats have been demanding action against the Dhangri killers and those who have helped them.
The investigation was handed over to NIA and more than 60 people (including hardcore OGWs) have been detained during the investigation for questioning.
Even after 67 days of (March 8) twin terror attacks, intelligence agencies have badly failed to trace, track and kill the perpetrators of Dhangri massacre despite assurances by Home Minister, Amit Shah, Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha, and DGP, Dilbag Singh.
Father-son duo, two minor cousins, and two brothers– sons of Saroj Bala who is now the only survivor in the family– were among 7 people killed by the terrorists in twin attacks.
The people of Dhangri and adjoining Panhayats are still living under terror and mourning.
“We can’t forget what happened before our eyes on January 1 & 2. We have decided not to celebrate any festival till the perpetrators are not killed and stringent action taken again staff those who have helped the terrorists” said Sarpanch, Dheeraj Sharma, and Saroj Bala.
While expressing his sentiments over celebrations of Holi festival in Rajouri town and adjoining areas, Dheeraj and Saroj Bala said: “They should have stayed away from Holi celebrations on moral grounds as we the habitants of Dhangri lost 7 people in terror attacks.”
It is pertinent to mention here that Saroj Bala and members of other victims’ families and inhabitants of the area have decided to go on an indefinite hunger strike in resentment but decided to postpone till March 22 on the request of SSP Rajouri.
