Udhampur Police organized youth awareness programmes in Govt. Middle School Jakhani Udhampur

UDHAMPUR FEBRUARY 13:–District Police Udhampur held a Youth awareness programme at Govt. Middle School Jakhani and delivered informative and motivating lectures to the young students and spread the awareness regarding the ill effects of narcotic drug addiction, alcohol abuse, visible crime, Prevention of children from sexual Offences Act, traffic rules and many other important things among the students of the School.

The event was organized on the directions of SSP Udhampur Dr. Vinod Kumar -IPS. ASI Charan Das chaired the event alongwith Ms. Devika Sharma (Drug Counselor Drug De-addiction center DPL Udhampur) Azra Khan Social Worker of Women Rights project at special cell Women Police Station Udhampur.

ASI Charan Das interacted with the students and delivered informative 9/motivating views and spread awareness about the prevailing criminal activities in which the local youth is getting involved, POCSO Act, new traffic rules and appealed them to obey traffic rules, wear helmets while riding, he also made the students aware about frauds through social media, cyber crimes, he further appealed to the students to remain alert and protect themselves from falling prey in the hands of criminals.
While speaking on the occasion Ms. Azra Khan highlighted the achievements made by women in different fields. She told, the participants that we must assist women facing harassment, abuse or any domestic violence, eve teasing etc. She also said that we want to create a safe city with regard to the Women Safety and must ensure dignity and safety of women at workplace and in transit to work place and also highlighted the following issues of women’s such as Gender Equality, Gender sensitivity, Issues related to Women like Physical Violence, Sexual Violence, Emotional or Psychological Violence and explain the police procedure and structure for the violated Women to develop her capability to access the Police System.

Ms. Devika Sharma, Drug Counselor in her address about the ill effects of drugs on society and its remedies. She highlighted the importance of drug free society and ill effects of this menace on youth and society. She also appealed the students of School to refrain from drug menace, which has eaten the vitals of the society and advised those affected to avail the facility of Drug De-Addiction Centre at DPL Udhampur.
