Department of Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry organises a joint awareness camp at Budhal

RAJOURI,April,30: On the directions of District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad ,a joint awareness camp was organised by the department of agriculture, horticulture and the Animal Husbandry at Budhal

During interaction with the farmers,the officers from animal husbandry department informed that various activities have been undertaken by Animal Husbandry Department and elaborated various aspects of cattle management, breeding, disease control and overall profitable Dairy entrepreneurship.

He desired that farmers should adopt the dairy farming practice and poultry rearing practice as a self employment generation venture. The farmers were educated about proper immunization and stressed that animals should not be let free on roads which creates nuisance for public and become susceptible to number of diseases.

The officer from the agriculture department educated the farmers about various centrally sponsored schemes which can play an important role in their socio economic development of the farmers.

The farmers were also made aware about the importance of Organic farming .He advised the farmers to avoids the use of synthetically compounded fertilizers, pesticides, growth regulators, genetically modified organisms and livestock food additives for better production.The use of these growth regulators affected badly on the health of the end consumer’s.
The farmers were asked to do regular health check of their soils and cultivate the crops as per the health of the soil.

Speaking on the occasion Horticulture Development Officer Appraised farmers of the modern techniques and methods of cultivation of fruit crops especially those which can be grown in the area,like walnut,apple etc. He also stressed upon farmers to adopt organic farming through the construction of vermi compost unit so that they can fetch better market price of the horticulture produce.

Horticulture Development Officer also made farmers aware of various departmental schemes through which farming community can be benefited and their economic conditions can be enhanced.

People of the area complimented the efforts of District Development Commissioner for organising such camps for the benefits of poor people.

The camp was attended by Chief Agriculture officer MY Choudhary,Chief Animal Husbandry officer MY Choudhary, Horticulture Development officer and other officer of the concerned department.
