Hold Timely DPC’s in All Government Departments : BADC Chief Secretary must Ensure Time Bound Promotion of Employees: Dr Shazad

JAMMU DECEMBER 19:- Jammu and Kashmir Border Area Development Conference (JK_BADC), a registered organization working for the welfare of residents of border areas have appealed to the government and administrative secretaries of each department, PSUs, autonomous bodies under the control and authority of J & K government to direct the heads of departmental promotion committees to hold timely meetings of the DPCs as per the policy and fixed schedule.

The BADC strongly condemned the casual approach being adopted by several heads of the Departmental Promotion Committees as they keep delaying the meetings of the promotion committee and causing career loss to the officers and officials for years and decades. The organization voiced its concern stating that every competent working person has the right to growth and promotion but delaying DPCs seize this right of the government employees.

Dr Shazad Ahmed Malik, Chairman of the BADC and former Vice Chancellor expressing solidarity with the J & K government employees including those working in universities, banks, corporations, Companies, Projects funded and owned by J & K government, urged Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta to take this matter seriously and issue directions to all the administrative secretaries and JKGAD to ensure holding DPCs on regular interval of time as career progression serves as a booster dose and motivation for government employee to give their best and serve the government and public to the best of their abilities. Dr Shazad also informed that over a dozen groups of government employees belonging to different departments had met him in Poonch, Jammu and Srinagar from March to November this year and had requested him to raise their demand of implementing policy of time bound promotions and holding meetings of Departmental Promotion committees.
