ARTO Rajouri aware people about revised Contract Carriage Permit Rules.

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 15:–Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Rajouri, Shammi Kumar today organized In an awareness program conducted by Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri at DIET ground Kheora, transporters, drivers/conductors, and the general public was made aware of the recent amendments made in J&K Motor Vehicle Rules, 1991 regarding ‘Contract Carriage Permit’.
ARTO, Shammi Kumar briefed about the whole procedure of obtaining permits for the (Contract Carriages) which has been simplified as after the revision of rules, there is no need to apply for ‘Letter of Authority’ which was earlier mandatory before applying for registration of Contract Carriage Vehicles.
“The contract carriage permit shall be granted to a new vehicle which is compliant with BS-IV or the latest norms as laid down by Bharat Stage Emission standards of the Government of India,” said ARTO.
“It shall not be applicable to any vehicle for which LA has already been issued prior to the date of issuance of the notification and any vehicle for which “All India Tourist Permit” has been issued and permit holder applies for its conversion to local permit after a period of 12 years he disclosed” he added.
The ARTO Rajouri further informed that any person who intends to purchase a fresh vehicle under all J&K Contract Carriage Permit have to submit an application along with other required documents.
The required documents include a domicile certificate, RC of the vehicle for which the route permit is sought, present address proof, character certificate from the concerned police station, copy of the driving license of the applicant or driver, declaration in an affidavit regarding the number of transport vehicles already owned by the applicant either registered in the name of the applicant or in the name of firm/company.
The applicant has also to submit details about the availability or arrangement of parking space either public or private for existing and for the new vehicle for which the applicant desires to obtain a route permit.
