Ex-serviceman died in suspicious circumstances, road blocked at Palma in protest.

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 05:-‘An ex-serviceman namely Sukhdev Singh, SM was found dead in suspicious circumstances on Monday after three days of missing while on the way back home in the Palma area of Rajouri police station in J&K.
The family and the villagers alleged that the deceased was murdered brutally and was thrown in the area in the wee hours on Monday as they had already searched the area during the last two days.
Brother & other family members pointed out fingers at some suspects residing in the area because, according to them, the deceased had a scuffle with them recently and they even attempted to snatch the phone of the deceased.
Alleging failure of the police to trace the deceased ex-serviceman despite a missing report was lodged 2 days ago & a clear case of murder, the family members, relatives, villagers, and residents of Palma town blocked Rajouri-Palma-Budhal road demanding action against the accused involved in the murder of ex-serviceman namely Sukhdev Singh s/o Lal Chand resident of Palma.
A police team headed by SHO, Rajouri police station along with Tehsildar Rajouri rushed to the Palma village to pacify the protesters who were demanding to detain the identified persons for questioning and for a further transparent investigation into the alleged murder.
“It is a clear case of murder because the legs and hands of the deceased were tied with rope (clear marks visible) and his body also wore marks of dragging before he was thrown from where Sukhdev was spotted by the passerby,” said the deceased’s younger brother.
He said that the Army was also contacted and helped in tracing Sukhdev, but without any success.
Sukhdev was barely breathing when was retrieved, but died on the way to the hospital, he added.
After the assurance of an early & transparent investigation into the matter, the protest was lifted. The police shifted the body to the GMC hospital for medico-legal formalities and autopsy.
