Udhampur Police recovered (Approx) 13 kg of Poppy Straw, 02 Smugglers arrested, Vehicle seized

UDHAMPUR NOVEMBER 20:–Continuing its campaign against Drugs and Narcotics, Udhampur Police achieved another success by recovering 13.130 kg of Poppy Straw at Jakhani checking point (NHW) under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur.

Police team of Police Station Udhampur headed by Insp. Raghubir Singh under the supervision of Sh. Anwaar Ul Haq Addl SP Udhampur and DySP Hqrs Udhampur Sh. Sahil Mahajan while conducting routine vehicle checking at Jakhani naka point NHW a truck bearing registration No. PB08BW 9737 was made to stop which was coming from Kashmir valley towards Udhampur for checking purpose.

During checking of said vehicle, Police recovered 13.130 kg of poppy straw and arrested two interState smugglers who were smuggling the above poppy straw in the said vehicle.

The arrested persons disclosed their identities as Swarn Singh S/O Satnam Singh R/O Amritsar and Surjit Singh S/O Ram Singh R/O Amritsar.

In this connection, A case FIR No.486/2022 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case has been taken up
