7 year old boy drown in underground water tank inside house in Budhal

RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER, 08:–In a tragic incident, a seven-year-old boy died on Wednesday due to drowning in an underground water tank constructed inside the bedroom in Budhal area in Rajouri district.
According to sources at the time of the mishap, the boy identified as Vivansh Sharma s/o Sunil Sharma r/o Budhal, was studying in the room in the presence of his mother.
In the late evening hour, mother as per routine opened the lid of the underground water tank and took out a bucket of water and went to the cattle shed to provide water for the animals
Unfortunately, she forgets to cover the water tank with a lid. As she didn’t turn up soon, Vivansh got up from the bed to look for his mother but fell into the opened water tank.
After coming into the room the mother found Vivank missing. She searched him in & outside the house and when Vivank couldn’t be traced she made a hue & cry following which neighbours came for help.
One of the neighbour noticed the lid of the underground water tank open and on peeping inside the tank, he saw a copy floating on top of the water.
Immediately a stair was put in the water tank and during the search, Vivank was found in an unconscious condition.
The boy was rushed to a nearby Primary Health Center (PHC), but the doctor declared him brought dead.
The deceased’s father was not present in the town at the time of this mishap.
The police also reached the hospital, and after completing the legal formalities handed over the body to the family for his last rites.
Vivank was the only brother of two sisters and the entire family & relatives are in shock.
