PS Vilgam arrests two peddlers, narcotics recovered

HANDWARA AUGUST 23 :–Continuing its efforts against drug peddling, Handwara Police arrested two peddlers and recovered narcotics in Vilgam area.

Today a police party of Police Station Vilgam while on naka checking at Dahama crossing, apprehended two persons who had attempted to evade the police party in a suspicious manner. On search, around 800 grams of charas like substance was recovered from their possession.

The persons have been identified as Mohd Gulzar Mir, S/o Gh Mohi Ud Din Mir, R/o Amargad and Basit Ahmad Rather, S/o Abdul Gaffer Rather, R/o Amargad Sherkote A/P Aloosa Kupwara.

In relation to this, FIR No. 95/2022 U/s 8/20, 29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vilgam and investigation has been initiated.
