A group of terrorists under SFs cordon in Rajouri, contact established ; Army Commander NC interacts with troops at Pargal after Fidaeen attack.

RAJOURI, AUGUST 14 :–Within three days of a ‘fidayeen’ attack on the Indian Army’s camp in Darhal tehsil in Rajouri district. Security Forces have cordoned a group of about 5 terrorists in Sujan forest in the general area of Targain under the jurisdiction of Budhal police station.
Meanwhile, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Army Commander, Northern Command (NC) visited the forward areas in Rajouri district and also interacted with the troops at Parghal Post.
He was briefed about the operation resulting in the neutralisation of two heavily armed terrorists (Fidayeens) by GOC, Romeo Force.
Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi complimented the unit for their alertness & professionalism.
It is pertinent to mention here that four soldiers, including a JCO, have attained martyrdom in this operation.
At the time of filing this report, contact was established with the hiding terrorists, and intermittent exchange of fire was going on between a team of troops of 60 RR, Special Operation Group of (SOG) of district police Rajouri, and a team from Budhal police station.
Security Forces tracked the group immediately after two terrorists had attempted to enter the post of 60 RR at Parghal. on August 11.
Sources said when the troops were heading towards the targeted Sujan Hill area, the hiding terrorists opened fire on the troops and the exchange of fire was established.
“Today, at about 7.30 pm operational contact has been established by troops of Indian Army, Rashtriya Rifles, and SOG with terrorists at Kandra Hill in Rajouri district of J&K” said Lt. Col Devender Anand, PRO (Defence) Jammu.
“After specific inputs, an operation against a group of 2-3 terrorists was launched in the evening on Sunday in Sujan Hills area under Budhal police station. As the contact was established in the late evening hours, a cordon-and-search–operation (CASO) has been launched by security forces,” said Dr. Haseeb Mughal, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Police Range.
He added additional troops have been rushed to the area and more details will be available in the morning.
It is pertinent to mention here that after the upper hand of Security Forces & their mounting pressure, the terrorists operating in South Kashmir now moving towards Rajouri district in small groups.
