Rajouri,April 18: District Development Commissioner Mohd Aijaz Asad today visited Siot and adjoining areas here to review the ongoing development works of PMGSY,Sericulture, PWD and PDD. He was accompanied by officers of the concerned departments.
During the first leg of his visit DDC visited the Mulberry nursery at Siot. He did a through inspection of the nursery.DDC said it was learnt that there are high rate of mortality of silkworms this year.He directed the concerned to check for the mortality rate of the silk worms and submit an report about the cause . He further directed the concerned officials of Sericulture to conduct door to door awareness for increasing the production of Mulberry nurseries.
Later DDC reviewed the progress on works of PMGSY roads. He took stock of the works on Chak kangrial to Chak Nowabad (Sunderbani to Bakhar Siot) road with Length of 10.20km and estimated ost of 437 lakhs. He also took stock of the works of PWD roads namely Balshama Ring Road having length of 4 km and to be completed at a cost of 250lacs . Similarly Siot Peer Khana to Bajha Bain is having length of 10 km and to be completed at an estimated cost of 450 lacs. DDC was informed that these roads are in different phases of executions and would be completed by this year.
It is pertinent to mention here that all these roads links inner villages of Siot and adjoining areas with the main Highway. DDC exhorted upon the concerned to maintain utmost quality in every step of the constructions of developmental works. DDC also said that these roads will ease out the commutation of the people of the areas and directed the executing agency to move men and machinery so that the projects could be completed at the earliest.
The issues regarding the slow pace in the construction of these projects have also been highlighted during the DDC public out reach camp at siot.
DDC also visited the grid station at Siot and took stock of the status of work being executed on the said power project. While reviewing the ongoing work DDC gave directions to the concerned to complete the power project by June end while maintaining the quality. He further said that commissioning of this Power Project at Siot will give relief to the people of the area from power cuts during the peak seasons.
